Club Meeting |
A rare privilege, a tour of the Maritime Museum’s warehouse led by Curator Guy Mathias.
An opportunity to see and hear about so many of those artifacts which have
never been on public display. Only about ten percent of the museums artifacts
can be on public display at any time because of space constraints.

Members are encouraged to bring their boats down to the Vancouver Maritime
Museum anytime in the middle of the afternoon so as to avoid the rush hour
traffic. There is a little sandy beach right at the parking lot. Enjoy the
afternoon and evening, messing around in small wooden boats. Bring a picnic
and enjoy the afternoon.Launching can occur at the beach site or if launching
from a trailer, just to the east at the boat ramp by the Coast Guard station
at the mouth of False Creek. Club members can try other members craft, and
get a feel for different hull shapes and designs, and experience how they
perform in the relatively protected waters off the Heritage Harbour. Club
boats, the Vogler skiff and the SamMc will be available, and possibly our
latest project the Darcy.
