Vogler Project: Transom |
|
The original transom was constructed of 3 pieces of red cedar joined with shiplaps and nails. A stout sternpost helped to keep it all together. | ||
| Bevels
were copied from the original to the new transom. A bevel gauge
captured the existing bevel at a given point on the old
transom.
|
|||
| The bevel gauge is placed against the corresponding point on the new transom. The height of the gap at the leftmost edge determines how far down the right edge must go. | |||
| Offering up' the new transom for a trial fit. |
